An Etching by Cecil Touchon from the 1970's
Cecil Touchon studied art in college strait out of high school in Saint Louis, MO. At the time the community college he attended was called Florissant Valley Community College now called the Florissant Valley Campus of St. Louis Community College (STLCC)
Touchon studied printmaking under Kim Mosley the then print making professor.
Abstract Expressionist mark making was of interest during that time with artists like Mark Tobey, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell and Cy Twombly being in vogue.
Touchon was obviously thinking about these artists at the time of this etching.
